I spent this past weekend filming with GMC on a feature for the Lifestyle portion of the GMC Acadia. I'm excited to show you all how it turns out! My trip to Acadia National Park got me thinking about my favorite things to do there and tips for first time travelers.
When: Summer for nice weather, fall to avoid the crowds
Where: Acadia National Park is located 5 hours from Boston. The main park area is within miles of Bar Harbor, ME

Terrain Rating: Moderate - Difficult
Hike In: 11AM
Hike Out*: 4PM (including 40 min walk to the parking lot)

Hike Out: 3:30PM
Trail Distance: Up to 8.9 miles

Terrain Rating: Difficult because of slippery rocks and ledges

Trailhead: Near Millinocket, ME. From ME 11 and turn on the Katahdin Iron Works Road. Follow this road for 6.8 miles to the gatehouse. Register with the caretake and pay the gate fee.

Trailhead: Stratton Brook parking area on Stratton Brook Pond Road in Kingfield, ME. When you turn on Stratton Brook Pond Road, follow the road about 2 miles until you reach the parking lot (mileage is not marked). Keep right at the fork on Stratton Brook Pond Road (it crosses the AT).
