I’d like to put in a plug for the Appalachian Mountain Club’s Spring Hiking Program. I really enjoyed this program in 2014. It helped me launch into the Leadership Program with AMC! I met some great people, learned important skills, and went on fun adventures. Best of all, you don’t need a car to go hiking – participants are very eager to carpool.
Ever wanted to try hiking or backpacking and didn’t know where to get started?
Are you rusty and want to brush up on your knowledge and skills?
Do you want to meet other hikers?
Then the AMC Boston Hiking/Backpacking Committee’s Spring Hiking Program is for you!
It will introduce you to the basics of safe and fun spring, summer, fall day hiking and backpacking in New England. The program includes a series of lectures and demonstrations on Wednesday evenings, April 6th through May 4th, in downtown Boston. Options for guided hikes throughout the summer enable you to apply your knowledge, hone your skills, and build outdoor friendships. Please note: the program typically fills up quickly.
