Little Lakes Valley is one of the most popular hikes in the Bishop area. The hike leads to multiple lakes without too much effort/elevation gain. It’s easy to see why families and dog owners love this one!

The trail from Mosquito Flats trailhead starts out nice and easy. The trail is easily well marked and there was even some snow left over! Go left when you see a fork in the trail. You will then come up to the first body of water Mack Lake. Ty took a swim here and we saw some folks with fishing poles.
The rest of the hike was super beautiful and relaxing! You’ll pass many other bodies of water that are fun for puppy swimming, even though some parts were still frozen over! Whenever you want to head back, turn around and retrace your steps.
Overall this was a fantastic hike for something more chill that still feels like you did some exercise. It never gets too steep and there aren’t that many switchbacks. The trail is mostly (literally) out-and-back.
