Trailhead: The Fern Dell picnic area of Griffith Observatory. There is a trail sign by the restrooms.
The West Griffith Observatory Trail is a quick ~1 mile walk up to the Griffith Observatory. While some people get bused up there, the hike a nice post-brunch activity in LA. You can take the West Griffith Observatory Trail up, and the East Trail back down. It’s a well marked but dusty trail. Be sure to pack water and bring a hat! There is no shade along the trail.
